In Madison's notes they framers discussed 2 branches of government in bed with each other against the Executive branch. I'll have to research that again, to be exact.
Though I agree with mark levin on alot, I disagree with him on Lincoln and the civil war, and regarding the Capital Hill attack. That attack was happening because of congress ignoring the constitutional crisis put in front of them and scotus. It's not comparable to antifa and BLM attacks over the years because their attack were ON the constitution.
