In the case of the Federal Government, those authorities are enumerated in the U.S. Constitution. The more government is involved in our lives, the less liberty we have. MORE ABOUT DOUG: After serving in the United States Navy, Douglas V. Gibbs purchased his home in Murrieta, California during the Spring of 1989. An Inland Empire resident since 1978, Doug has watched what was once Rancho California grow from an area of rolling hills and ranches to the two cities of Temecula and Murrieta. Doug has spent most of his life's journey involved in the political scene, primarily as a writer, and political activist. He hosts Constitution Speaker Radio on KCAA 1050 AM in Southern California, and co-hosts a number of Internet radio shows with nearly a thousand episodes under his belt. In addition to being a political commentator, Doug has been the Senior Editor at American Daily Review, and is currently a columnist for The Murrieta Patch, The Central Idaho Post, Canada Free Press, Conservative Crusader, and The Examiner. He is also a member of the “American Authors Association”, the “Committee of Concerned Journalists” and “The Military Writers Society of America.” He received the Golden Anchor Award for his patriotic commentary in 2008. Doug launched his well renowned "Political Pistachio" website in 2006 after deciding to "make a name for himself" in order to assist him in his efforts to become a published writer. This decision followed an attempt to have one of his books published, with the assistance of his literary agent, in 2005, which was met with rejections not because the work failed to meet standards, but because as a writer, Doug was still an unknown. During his journey, Doug has built an Internet following that spans his various Internet radio programs, his KCAA radio program, and his writings that are literally all over the Internet. In 2008, he became involved in the Clay Thibodeau campaign that aimed to defeat Mary Bono Mack, and during that time met a number of folks involved in the local Tea Party movement. From there, his Tea Party involvement has grown beyond the locality of the Temecula Valley. An active member of the Tea Party Patriots, Doug operates a Constitution Booth at local Tea Party events, as well as other local events. At political events around Southern California he has spoken on stage a number of times regarding the Constitution, and is currently growing his list of public speaking experiences. Doug lectures on the U.S. Constitution on Thursday Nights in Temecula (with future classes planned for Murrieta and Menifee), and has been asked to host Constitution Classes at various churches and organizations which are expected to begin in the Spring of 2012. He is a family man, married 27 years to his high school sweetheart. He is the father of two adult children, and has four grandchildren. Doug is a proud United States Navy veteran. Douglas V. Gibbs is a Constitutionalist, meaning that he supports the limiting principles wisely provided to us by the Founding Fathers of this great nation as writers of the United States Constitution. |
